I think I sort of improvised "Quite Like Us" when I wrote it, which is to say there wasn't a lot pen-to-paper involved. It just kinda happened. If anything was written painstakingly it was the bridge (or maybe that counts as the chorus, not really a musicologist), but even that came pretty easy. It's sort of my version of The Turtles' "Happy Together" in that the lyrics sort of talk in circles in a really simple way without being annoying.
lyrics
Take my hand
and you will see
Nobody loves you
quite like me
I will love you
my whole life through
'Cause nobody thrills me
quite like you
I know there are millions of people
all over the world
But none of them are quite like us
Quite like you and me girl
(guitar solo)
I know there are millions of people
all over the world
But none of them are quite like us
Quite like you and me girl
Take my hand
and you will see
Nobody loves you
quite like me
I will love you
my whole life through
'Cause nobody thrills me
quite like you
